Whooping cough cases increase

Cases of whooping cough (pertussis) reported to the Health Protection Agency (HPA) in England and Wales have more than doubled from 421 cases in 2010 to 1040 in 2011. Community Midwives

Lawley Medical Practice offers a Midwife clinic on Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons by appointment ( 01952 560011). The role of the Midwife is to provide antenatal care at the practice and at home (Sure Start). Midwives also provide post natal care immediately after hospital discharge. Lawley Medical Practice has a team of Health Visitors supported by a Nursery Nurse providing care & advice for under 5's. The Health Visitors also have a drop in baby clinic, and offer some appointments. Call 506949 for further details.
